New Haven Bound Train Hits, Kills Man In Massachusetts A 43-year-old Western Massachusetts man was killed after he was struck by a train Thursday morning, Nov. 21, authorities said.  The unnamed Deerfield man was hit around 8 a.m. on the tracks on South Main Street near Thayer Road, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.  According to Amtrak, the Valley Flyer Train 471 was traveling from Greenfield to New Haven.
