Filth, Feces, Freezers: 35+ Animals Found In Squalid CT Home In Cruelty Case More than 20 dogs, a goat, a mini horse, and other malnourished animals were rescued from a filthy Connecticut home, authorities said. Kelly Desnoyers, 56, was charged with 35 counts of animal cruelty. Nicole Desnoyers, 22, also of Sterling, faces 40 counts, according to the Connecticut State Police. Police responded on Feb. 13 after a concerned resident requested a welfare check, believing the Desnoyers were hoarding animals. CT Man Pulled From Burning Car After Crash Dies at Hospital A 42-year-old Connecticut man was killed on Wednesday evening, Feb. 19, when he lost control of his sedan and slammed into a utility pole in Windham County, authorities said. Michael Ryan Theriault, of Moosup, was behind the wheel of a Nissan Altima heading south on Ekonk Hill Road (Route 49) in Sterling around 5:30 p.m. when his car left the road and hit the utility pole, Connecticut State Police said.
