ID Released For CT Woman Pulled From Housatonic River
A Connecticut woman who fell off a paddleboard in the Housatonic River and never resurfaced has been identified. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, in Seymour, according to Will Healey of the state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection. Healey said DEEP received reports of a paddleboarder in the Housatonic River, located by boaters in the region. DEEP Environmental Conservation officers and the Seymour Fire Department responded. Shark Sighting Keeps Swimmers Out Of Water At Several Long Island Beaches
A shark sighting kept swimmers out of the water at three New York beaches. The sighting was reported on Long Island at Nickerson Beach in Nassau County. As a precaution, the town of Hempstead also closed Lido Beach and Malibu Beach for swimmers for a brief period early Saturday afternoon, Aug. 3. Missing Stamford Man Found Dead In Wooded Area In New Canaan
A missing Fairfield County man was found dead in a wooded area during a search by police. The incident occurred in New Canaan shortly after 12 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9. According to Lt. 3 Homemade Bombs Found In Worcester; Police Warn Of Unattended Items
Worcester police say they have located three explosive devices throughout the city since they found the remnants of a small explosion last month. Police learned of the explosion on Wednesday, June 19, at 185 Madison St. They found fireworks, a butane gas can, and projectile materials at the scene, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office said.
