Funeral arrangements have been announced for three Northern York County Regional Police Department detectives killed in the line of duty during a Sept. 17 ambush in North Codorus Township. Governor Josh Shapiro also honored their families with the Keystone First Responder Award. The three Northern York County Regional Police Department detectives killed in a York County ambush have been formally identified, Pennsylvania State Police announced during a Thursday, Sept. 18 press conference. Two other officers were wounded, and the gunman, 24-year-old Matthew James Ruth, was killed. The detectives killed in the line of duty have been identified as Cody Beaker, Mark Baker, and Isaiah Emenheiser. The gunman who opened fire on police in North Codorus Township, killing three officers and wounding two others during a warrant service, has been identified as 24-year-old Matthew James Ruth of Hanover, according to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by Daily Voice on Thursday, Sept. 18.
