CT Motorcycle Crash Turned Family's World 'Upside Down,' Community Rallies To Help The family of a 32-year-old Torrington man critically injured in a Memorial Day weekend motorcycle crash says their lives have been turned "upside down." Nick Newman, 32, of Torrington, was involved in a two-motorcycle collision around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, on Winsted Road in Torrington. Both riders were thrown from their motorcycles, and paramedics airlifted them to Hartford Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police. CT Motorcyclists Fighting For Lives Following Crash: Police A violent crash involving two motorcycles left both riders with life-threatening injuries earlier this weekend, authorities said. Both had to be airlifted for emergency care.  Emergency crews rushed to Winsted Road in Torrington around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, after the motorcycles collided at the intersection near 420 Winsted Road. 34-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Crash After Eluding Cops, CT State Police Say A motorist suffered serious injuries in a crash after eluding police in Connecticut. Connecticut State Police said the incident occurred in New London County at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in Colchester. Tolland County resident David Justin Carnein, age 34, of the town of Tolland, was riding a 2001 Triumph motorcycle recklessly on Lebanon Avenue. Police had previously attempted to stop Carnein, but he fled at a high speed, said state police.
