Police ID Woman Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting, Release Body-Cam Footage
Connecticut state investigators have identified the woman killed in an officer-involved shooting over the weekend and released a preliminary report on what led up to the gunfire. Amanda Williams, 39, was shot and killed after Connecticut state police arrived at a home on Gifford Lane in Bozrah around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, the Inspector General's Office said. Troopers were responding to a domestic dispute and reports that Williams was holding a man at gunpoint. A disturbance call involving a gun in Bozrah turned deadly over the weekend after Connecticut State Police responded. Now the state is investigating what led up to a trooper pulling the trigger. Intoxicated Driver Chase Hits 120 MPH Through Work Zone, Crashes in Glastonbury: Police
A high-speed chase down Route 2 that nearly put construction workers in harm’s way ended with a crash and a drug-related arrest in Glastonbury. Marcus Douton, of Norwich, faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence and leading police on a pursuit at more than 120 mph on Wednesday, April 30, around 6:15 p.m., authorities said.
