Joseph Lachausse, of Stafford, was charged with seven counts of first-degree possession of child pornography, Connecticut State Police said, and he was being held on a $350,000 bond.

Earlier this year, Lachausse sought out inpatient treatment for sex addiction, and after he returned began attending regular Sex Addicts Anonymous meetings. During that time, he was working with someone to help keep him from straying from his 12-step program, a Connecticut State Police report said.

Lachausse gave them access to his email as proof of his sexual sobriety, but when they went through it, they found seven videos containing child sexual abuse material featuring children who appeared to be 3, 4, and 8 to 10 years old that he received in 2013 after communicating with someone online, the report said.

They reported this to the police, who investigated Lachausse and found the offending videos, police said. They also found two videos of young girls taken of them in a bathroom without their knowledge, the report continues. It's unclear who filmed those or where they were taken.

Investigators sent the videos to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which was able to identify one of the kids as a known sex abuse victim, the report said.
