Man Found Dead In CT After Police Discover Submerged Vehicle
A local man was found dead in the Aspetuck River after police were notified of a submerged vehicle in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in the town of Fairfield around 12:40 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22. According to Fairfield Police Sgt. Michael Stahl, the Weston Police Department notified the department of a vehicle submerged in the Aspetuck River, directly behind Aspetuck Falls in Fairfield. 2 Oxford Women Who Died After Being Swept Away By Flood Waters Identified By Police
Two Connecticut women who died after being swept away by floodwaters in separate incidents have been identified. According to the National Weather Service, the incidents occurred in New Haven County around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, on Route 67 in Oxford, which received more than 10 inches of rain. According to Connecticut State Police Cpl. Daniel Loughman, the women were in vehicles stuck in floodwaters that washed away their cars from the Little River. One woman was killed when a firefighter attempted to rescue her but was unable to do so, and she was swept away, state police said. The …
