Man Dies After Crashing Car, Attempting To Swim Across Pond In Tolland County A Connecticut man who crashed his Chevy Malibu and then attempted to swim across a pond to get away died in the water.  The incident occurred in Tolland County around 10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, in Vernon. Vernon Police Lt. Robert Marra said officers responded to the crash on Snipsic Street and East Main Street.  When they arrived, Marra said they found the unoccupied Malibu with significant front-end damage. Officers began to search for the driver. Child Found Dead In Pool Of CT Home A boy who was found unresponsive in the pool of a Connecticut home has died. The incident occurred in Litchfield County around noon on Tuesday, Aug. 20, on Magnolia Lane in the Terryville section of Plymouth. According to Edman Austin of the Plymouth Police, police, fire, and EMS found the child unresponsive in the pool and immediately began treatment.
