CT Boat Accident Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Missing
A man is dead, and two people are still missing following a boat accident in Connecticut.
The incident occurred in Middlesex County in Old Saybrook around 9:15 p.m., Monday, Sept. 2.
According to Will Healey, spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Police, multiple agencies responded and found a single motorboat floating, half-submerged, near the Harbor One Marina in Old Saybrook.
"There was significant damage to the boat, which hit the east-facing jetty at the mouth of the Connecticut River," said Healey.

Speeding, Weaving Motorist Nabbed For DUI On CT Roadway, Police Say
A Fairfield County man driving a 2024 Lexus NX 350 was nabbed for alleged DUI and other charges after he was spotted by police speeding and weaving.
John Tacconi, age 66, of Norwalk, was charged in Wilton on Tuesday, Aug. 20, on Danbury Road.
According to Wilton Police Deputy Chief Robert Cipolla, an officer clocked Tacconi traveling at 60 mph in a 40 mph zone on Danbury Road and weaving in and out of the double yellow line.
Tacconi admitted to the officer he had consumed alcohol before driving, and he had bloodshot eyes and was slurring his speech, Cipolla said.

A man wanted on an out-of-state warrant was arrested in Connecticut following a fight with officers that included him choking a police dog, officials said.
Wesley Aldridge, age, 35, of Washington, DC, was being held on a $100,000 bond following his arrest on Wednesday, Aug. 28, on several felonies, Connecticut Police said.
