CT Woman Nabbed For DUI At Train Station Following Crash, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman was nabbed for alleged DUI following a crash at a train station. The incident occurred in Darien at around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Noroton Heights Train Station on Heights Road. According to Sgt. Mauricio Vigil of the Darien Police, responding officers found a silver 2008 Kia Spectra with significant damage after it collided with a telephone pole. An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. North Haven Police said an investigation is underway, and commuters are asked to avoid the area and expect delays. Only minor injuries were reported, North Haven Police said. A 47-year-old Norwalk Housing Authority bus driver was charged with child endangerment after locking a 6-year-old on a bus for the night. The incident occurred in Norwalk on Wednesday, May 15. According to Sgt. Ryan Evarts of the Norwalk Police, on May 15, patrol officers responded to a call where a 6-year-old child did not return home from after-school activities sponsored by the Norwalk Housing Authority. Metro-North Train Becomes Tangled In Wires, Causing Delays, Small Fire In Norwalk
A Metro-North train got tangled in overhead power wires in Fairfield County, causing a small brush fire and stopping the train, causing delays. The incident occurred in Norwalk around 4:45 p.m. Monday, May 20, on an eastbound train near Moore Place, carrying passengers who had become entangled in the overhead wires that supply operational power to the train.
