Drunk CT Driver Causes Power Outage, Route 66 Closure After Hitting Utility Pole: Cops
A single-car crash early Thursday morning snapped a utility pole in half, draped power lines across Route 66, and led to the arrest of a local driver for driving under the influence.
Gabriel Brown, 26, of East Hampton, was driving a gray Ford Crown Victoria when he crashed into the utility pole around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, near 426 West Main St. in Hebron, Connecticut State Police said. The crash forced authorities to close the highway while crews worked to clear the scene.

Severe Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Connecticut
Tens of thousands are without power after a severe storm swept through the Northeast overnight.
At around 7;15 a.m. Thursday, June 27, a total of around 48,000 customers in Connecticut are without electricity, according to poweroutage.us.
Most of the outages are in Hartford and Litchfield counties, with a combined 33,808.
