Ned Lamont has hired a law firm to investigate the alleged misuse of two state-owned vehicles following a report that an SUV and sedan driven by members of his staff were driven for personal use and at speeds above 100 miles per hour, Daily Voice has learned. Lamont on Tuesday, Dec. 10 signed a contract with the Hartford law firm of Shipman & Goodwin LLP to collect and review relevant records, mileage reports, and other documentation and report their findings and recommendations, according to the contract (see attached) obtained by Daily Voice. CT's Second Female Governor Jodi Rell Dies At 78 Connecticut is mourning the loss of its second female governor, Jodi Rell, who died following a brief illness.  Rell, who served as the state's 87th governor from 2004 to 2011, died on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the age of 78 at a hospital in Florida following a short illness, CBS News reported.  Rell took office following the resignation of her predecessor, John G. Busy Roadway Across CT Dam Reopens To Traffic After Flood Damage Repairs Part of a busy roadway carrying traffic across a dam in Connecticut has been reopened after being damaged by severe flooding, officials announced.  Route 34 in the Fairfield County town of Monroe and New Haven County town of Oxford between Route 111 and Coppermine Road has been reopened after suffering damage from flooding on Sunday, Aug. 18, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday, Aug. 27.  The stretch of road carries traffic over the Stevenson Dam on Lake Zoar.  Although traffic can now cross the dam, Route 34 remains closed between Coppermine Ro…
