Newly Identified Chemical In Drinking Water Could Be Toxic, Study Says
A newly discovered compound in drinking water has raised questions about its potential health risks. The chemical, known as chloronitramide anion (Cl–N–NO₂⁻), was found in all samples from 10 US drinking water systems that use chloramines, according to a study published in the journal Science on Thursday, Nov. 21. The research, led by Julian L. The 5-year-old boy who fell into the Connecticut River in Middlesex County last week while kayaking has died, authorities said. Jaxon Podbielski, of Higganum, was kayaking with an adult and fell into the water around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 26, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said. ID Released For Man Who Disappeared In Waters Off Fairfield Coast
Police have identified a man who disappeared in the waters off the Connecticut coast. The incident occurred in Fairfield around 12:10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef. According to Sgt. Michael Stahl of the Fairfield Police Department, a 911 call was received about two individuals struggling in the water near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 7:50 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, in the Quinnipiac River in North Haven.
