Connecticut's Craig Melvin said he wanted to look his best for his new position on the "TODAY" show, so he turned to the one man he knew he could trust for the job — DJ Fresh.
Melvin, who lives in Westport with his wife, sports broadcaster Lindsay Czarniak, and their two children, gave the Norwalk barber a shoutout on Friday, Jan. 10, during an exchange with weatherman Al Roker.

Car Fire Leaps Onto CT Home Causing Major Damage To Garage
A car fire in Connecticut spread to a home this weekend, causing heavy damage to the vehicle and house, authorities said.
Firefighters were called to the vehicle fire on Sturges Highway in Westport around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4. When crews arrived, they were unable to prevent the flames from spreading to the home, forcing a call for backup, officials said.
Flames licked at the garage before making the leap to burn away the frame as crews put it out.

The "Today" show didn't have to look far to find a replacement for Hoda Kotb, who is retiring early next year.
The show announced on Thursday, Nov. 14, that Craig Melvin who has been with "Today" since 2018, would do double duty and co-chair the news from 7 to 8 a.m. beginning early next year, NBC News said.
The 45-year-old Melvin lives in Westport, Connecticut, with his wife, sports broadcaster Lindsay Czarniak, and their two children, Delano, 10, and Sybil, 8. He's worked with NBC News for 14 years.

Alisyn Camerota, A CNN anchor from Fairfield County, CT and with New Jersey roots is mourning the loss of her husband, she announced in a heartbreaking post on social media.
Camerota, who was born in Shrewsbury, NJ said on Friday, Sept. 20 on Instagram that her husband, Tim Lewis, died on July 27, 2024 — two years after being diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
