12-Hour Standoff Ends In Arrest Of CT Man, Police Say
A Connecticut man was arrested after a 12-hour standoff with police following an alleged domestic violence assault in which he threw a woman down a flight of stairs and struck her in the head with a dumbbell, authorities said.
On Monday, Feb. 10, at 9:19 a.m., Norwalk police responded to 16 Sable St., after receiving a report of a disturbance, Norwalk Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said. Officers spoke with the female victim, who told police that Deval Pendergrast, 34, had physically assaulted her inside the home.

A Fairfield County man wanted for allegedly having inappropriate contact with multiple juveniles was arrested in Georgia after an intense manhunt led by local and federal authorities, police said.
Moises Ruiz, 37, of Norwalk, was tracked to Gwinnett County, Georgia, where he was taken into custody on Jan. 15 by US Marshals, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
Detectives from Norwalk’s special victims unit traveled to Georgia on Tuesday, Jan. 28, to extradite Ruiz back to Connecticut.

An intoxicated Connecticut man barricaded himself inside a home in Norwalk and threatened to burn it down with someone inside because he had to "complete a mission," authorities said.
Nabeel Osama Abdallah, 35, of Norwalk, was charged with disorderly conduct, first-degree threatening, interfering with an officer, and resisting arrest, police said.

Christian Chavez-Sosa, 31, of Norwalk, was arrested Monday, Dec. 16, in Gloversville, New York. He was extradited to Norwalk Friday to face charges of home invasion, strangulation, three violations of a protective order, and burglary in the first degree, Fairfield County authorities said.
