NBC Names New Nightly News Anchor It didn't take long for NBC to decide on its choice as the next anchor of its Nightly News broadcast. On Monday, Feb. 24, Lester Holt announced he would stepping down after a 10-year-run at the start of the summer. On Wednesday, March 5, NBC News announced Tom Llamas will take over for Holt. Fairfield County Congressman Himes Among Latest Dems To Call On Biden To Quit Race Connecticut Congressman Jim Himes (D--4th District) is the latest sitting representative to call upon President Joe Biden to call it quits on his presidential campaign. Himes, whose district covers 17 towns and cities in most of Fairfield County and some of New Haven County, is also the first member of the state's congressional delegation to do so.
