Man Guilty Of CT Cold Case Murder Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison: State
A New Mexico man has been sentenced to four decades in prison for the murder of a Windsor man 17 years ago. Mark White, 47, was found guilty by a Hartford jury in March for the 2008 shooting of 25-year-old Jumar Joiner, the State Division of Criminal Justice announced. The crime happened on West Morningside Street in Hartford. Police said Joiner was shot several times. After the murder, investigators chased tips but didn't have enough for an arrest for nearly a decade. In 2017, the state’s Cold Case Unit received new leads through its tip line. Police have identified the man found dead in an idling car early Tuesday morning, May 20, authorities said. Jordan Patterson, 24, of Windsor Locks, was found just before 4 a.m. with a single bullet wound to his torso in the driver's seat of a vehicle near Irving and Woodland in Manchester, police said.
