VP Debate: CT Native Moderator's Exchange With Sen. Vance Goes Viral The vice presidential debate Tuesday night, Oct. 1, lacked the explosive hallmarks of this election cycle's presidential forums. There was no yelling, cursing, or name-calling. The candidates even exchanged compliments at times.  The most contentious moment of the night came from Sen. JD Vance and CBS moderator Margaret Brennan, a Stamford native.
