Third Small Plane Crash In Three Months: Aircraft Flips On Landing In Pennsylvania, Police Say

Another small plane has crashed in Pennsylvania — this time flipping onto its roof while landing on a private airstrip in Berks County, Robeson Township police announced on Friday, March 21.

It marks the third small aircraft crash in as many months across the state — the second this month.

Officers were called to the first block of Pleasant Grove Road at 5:32 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, where they found a Maule M-7 aircraft overturned on the pilot’s property, according to Acting Police Chief Sgt. Jason Rimby.

The pilot sustained a minor injury, police said.

Crews from Gibraltar Fire Company, Geigertown Fire Company, Birdsboro-Union Fire Department, and Tower Direct EMS responded to the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are now investigating.
