NJ Club Promoter Killed By Hit-Run Driver After Car Breaks Down On NYC Highway: Cops
A popular New Jersey club promoter's drive home ended in tragedy after he was struck and killed on the Major Deegan Expressway by a hit-and-run driver—just minutes after calling for help when his car broke down, according to police and the New York Daily News. Darryl Mathis Jr., aka Maybach Swagg, of Elizabeth, was heading home from a gig in the city with rapper Rick Ross when his Crown Victoria stalled in the southbound lanes near West Fordham Road, according to the New York Daily News.
