The network announced on Thursday, April 3, it had renewed “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Rookie,” “9-1-1,” “Shifting Gears” and “Will Trent” for another season.
“Grey’s Anatomy,” the longest running medical drama in history, will be returning for a 22nd season. All cast members are expected to be back with Ellen Pompeo continuing as narrator and making occasional appearances as Meredith Grey, Deadline reported.
“The Rookie,” staring Nathan Fillion will be coming back for its 8th season. The drama is about the Los Angeles Police Department’s oldest recruit, played by Fillion.
“9-1-1” will be returning for its 9th season. The drama, about first responders in Los Angeles, stars Peter Krause, Angela Bassett and Jennifer Love Hewitt. It aired on FOX for its first six seasons. “9-1-1” will be joined next season by a spinoff “9-1-1: Nashville,” starring Chris O’Donnell. A previous spinoff “9-1-1: Lone Star” was canceled after five seasons.
“Shifting Gears,” a freshman comedy starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings is getting a 2nd season. The show is about a divorced mother of two, played by Dennings, who returns home to live with her opinionated widower father, played by Allen. The show was picked up for 10 episodes, Deadline reported.
Acclaimed drama “Will Trent” will be getting a 4th season. The show stars Ramon Rodriguez as the titular detective with a tortured past, who solves crimes for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
No renewal decision has made on the drama "Doctor Odyssey."
