Bomb Threat Targets CT State Senator, Claims Mailbox Pipebomb A Connecticut state senator said he and his family are safe after receiving an email claiming someone had placed a pipe bomb in his mailbox. It marks the second bomb threat against a state leader in a week. Senate Minority Leader Stephen Harding of Brookfield said he received the emailed threat on Wednesday, Feb. 26, and police quickly searched his home for potential explosive devices. Search Resumes For 2 Swimmers Missing In Candlewood Lake An extensive search and rescue mission will resume early on Tuesday, July 16, for two men who jumped from a boat in a Fairfield County lake and never resurfaced. The incident occurred in Danbury at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Candlewood Lake in the area of City Island. According to Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Fire Department, it was reported that two men had jumped off a boat into the lake and disappeared. Man Charged With Drug Sales After Months-Long Danbury Investigation A Fairfield County man was charged with alleged illegal drug sales after complaints from residents led to a months-long investigation. Arpit Soni, age 28, of Danbury, was arrested on Thursday, June 6, following an investigation by the Danbury Police, Brookfield Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
