A Fairfield County woman is facing charges after police say she was driving under the influence on a major roadway. The incident occurred in Wilton on Saturday, Nov. 23, when police stopped a 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 traveling north on Danbury Road (Route 7) just after 3 a.m. Officers reported the vehicle was speeding and having difficulty staying in its lane. Man, 80, Killed After Crashing Into Guardrail On Route 7
An 80-year-old Connecticut man was killed on Wednesday, Oct. 2, after his car slammed into a guardrail in Fairfield County, authorities said. Fred Hunter, of Wilton, crashed just after noon when his Nissan Altima drifted across three lanes of traffic on the Route 7 connector near exit 2 just before the crash, Connecticut State Police said. He collided with a guardrail, tearing about 100 feet of the metal off its posts and spreading it along the shoulder. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. A 33-year-old woman faces criminal charges in connection with a Connecticut crash that left another driver dead, police announced. Fairfield County resident Kelsey Gallagher of Stamford turned herself in to Ridgefield Police on Thursday, Sept. 5 on an outstanding warrant regarding a crash that happened on Thursday, May 20, the Ridgefield Police Department announced on Friday, Sept. 6.
