The new restaurant in Danbury will begin serving customers on Thursday, July 21, according to an announcement from representatives.  The restaurant is located at 172 White St., and it will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Western Connecticut State University Announces New Nickname Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) in Danbury announced that following a multi-year discussion that included town halls and online balloting, the school will now identify as the “Wolves.” The Wolves nickname replaces “Colonial Chuck,” who reportedly raised concern for its representation of a violent period in American history by representing a minuteman from the Revolutionary War. That mascot had been intended to temporarily represent the school for the 1976 bicentennial. Prior to it, WCSU’s mascot was the Indians. Beloved High School Teacher, Coach In Northern Westchester Dies A lifelong Hudson Valley resident who was a beloved high school coach, and teacher, as well as the chief of a local fire department, and a standout college athlete in Connecticut, has died.
