The incident occurred in Trumbull around 10:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, when her dog was swept away in the Pequonnock River. Trumbull Police rushed to the scene after receiving a 911 call that the Trumbull resident was on the phone with her friend when her dog went into the river and got swept away, the department said. 22-Year-Old Killed In Fiery 2-Vehicle Crash In Fairfield County, Police Say A Fairfield County man was killed during a two-vehicle crash that caused one vehicle to burst into flames.  It took place in Trumbull around 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 in the area of the Monroe Turnpike. According to Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police Department, the crash occurred when an Infiniti collided with a Subaru Crosstrek on the Monroe Turnpike near the intersection of Monroe Turnpike, or Route 111, and Technology Drive.
