An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. North Haven Police said an investigation is underway, and commuters are asked to avoid the area and expect delays. Only minor injuries were reported, North Haven Police said. A 24-year-old Connecticut man was killed after he veered off I-95 and hit the back of a parked tractor-trailer. The New Haven County crash happened around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, in Branford. A Connecticut State Police trooper was injured after an overnight crash that caused a three-hour closure on a stretch of I-84. It happened in Fairfield County just after 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, in Danbury. Police are investigating after a 74-year-old Connecticut man was killed during a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at the intersection of Route 22 and Route 55 in the town of Dover, a hamlet of Wingdale, around 3:45 p.m., Thursday, June 13. According to Capt. A 20-year-old was killed after slamming into the back of a tractor-trailer on a busy Connecticut roadway, police said. The crash took place in New Haven County around 8:30 p.m. near Exit 23 on I-84 in Waterbury. According to state police, both vehicles were traveling westbound when a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Fairfield County resident Zachary James Carlson, of Danbury, failed to slow down due to traffic and struck the rear of the tractor-trailer. Person Struck By Tractor-Trailer In Fairfield County
A pedestrian was hit by a tractor-trailer and seriously injured on I-84 in Fairfield County. Connecticut State Police said the incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 near Exit 11 in Newtown. Responding troopers said the person was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The roadway was closed for several hours, backing up traffic for at least eight miles, before reopening later on Monday morning. The extent of injuries was not immediately provided. Massachusetts State Police Cruiser Struck By Tractor-Trailer
A Massachusetts state trooper was seriously injured after being struck by a tractor-trailer while protecting a road construction crew. The incident took place around 11:44 p.m., Tuesday, Sept.. 28 on I-95 southbound near its intersection with the Mass Pike in Weston in Middlesex County.
