Man Threatened To 'Shoot Up Graduation' At Stratford School, Police Say
A man faces charges after threatening to harm students at a school in Fairfield County, police said.
Police first learned of the threats on Friday, Feb. 17 around 6 p.m., when two people told state troopers that a student at the Stratford School for Aviation had made the comments at the school, state police said.
According to the two witnesses, a student identified as 21-year-old New Haven County resident Joseph Cyr, of Oxford, had allegedly said that he was going to "shoot up graduation" with a friend or coworker in December 2022.

Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole nearly $6,000 worth of Legos from a Walmart and threatened to shoot an employee who attempted to stop him in Connecticut.

A Connecticut man who told his therapist he intended on killing staff members at an area hospital was prevented from purchasing guns.
Hartford County resident Connor Zawasky, age 24, of Windsor, was charged on Tuesday, July 12, and charged with threatening.
The incident began on Wednesday, June 8, when Zawasky told his counselor that he intended on obtaining a pistol permit and buying a gun to kill staff members at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, said Sgt. Mark Cleverdon, of the New Windsor Police.

A man has been apprehended after he threatened to shoot a restaurant employee in Fairfield County in the face, police said.
Orlando Torres, age 55, of the Town of Fairfield, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 7, after police were called to the Southport Diner for reported harassing phone calls.
According to Lt. Eddie Weihe, of the Fairfield Police, Torres had been calling and harassing the employees at the restaurant located at 3350 Post Road.
