Shelton Man Threatens To Kill GOP Presidential Hopeful Ron DeSantis, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill Florida Gov. and GOP Presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis with a gun. Brendan Hughes, age 22, of Shelton, was arrested on Friday, July 14, said Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police. Hughes was charged with threatening and held on a $1,000 bond, Kozlowsky said. The arrest stems from a call Shelton Police received from Florida law enforcement regarding an online threat made to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Twitter.
