Demolition To Begin On Bridge Over I-95 In Westchester: Lane Closures, Traffic Stops Planned Demolition work on a busy bridge over I-95 in Westchester is set to bring lane closures, traffic stops, and other delays as part of a three-year project that will eventually replace the structure.  Demolition at the North Avenue bridge over the roadway in New Rochelle will begin on Monday, Oct. 30 and is set to last around three weeks, the New York Thruway Authority announced.  The work, which is part of a $31.8 million project to replace the 65-year-old bridge, will require lane closures and traffic stops on both I-95 and North Avenue, officials said. Separate Tractor-Trailer Crashes Cause I-95 Closures Two separate tractor-trailer crashes have caused closures on I-95 in Fairfield County amid the treacherous travel conditions following the arrival of a strong winter storm. 29-Year-Old From Westchester Dies After Crash In Fairfield County A 29-year-old from Westchester County is dead following a crash in Fairfield County.  It happened around 6:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 6, on Route 8 in Shelton, said the Connecticut State Police.  According to state police, Erzsebet Menczel, age 45, of Derby, was driving a Honda CR-V and crashed into John Mateo Oliver, of Yonkers, who was driving a BMW motorcycle. Oliver was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash closed Route 8 for several hours during an investigation.
