24-Year-Old Fatally Struck By Car In CT Authorities are investigating a crash in Connecticut that left a 24-year-old man dead. The collision happened in Litchfield County on Sunday, July 28 just before noon, when a car struck a pedestrian on southbound Clearview Avenue in Harwinton, Connecticut State Police announced on Wednesday, Aug. 7.  According to authorities, a 2008 Audi A4 driven by a 21-year-old man had been traveling on Clearview Avenue when it veered off the southbound shoulder for an unknown reason and hit the victim before striking a rock embankment.  The driver of the Audi was taken to Waterbury Hospi…

Fatal Crash: CT 65-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On I-84 A person was killed after being struck by a car in an early morning crash on a stretch of I-84 in Connecticut involving three Long Island residents. It happened around 5:10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in Tolland County. A 2010 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound in the right-center lane between exits 65 and 66 in the town of Vernon when it struck a pedestrian who was lying in the travel lane for unknown reasons, according to Connecticut State Police. 2 Pedestrians Hit, 1 Killed in CT, Driver Remains At Scene Two pedestrians were hit, and one was killed by a vehicle at a busy Connecticut intersection.  The crash occurred in Hartford County in Bristol around 4:15 a.m., Monday, June 24, in the area of Pine Street (Route 72) and Emmett Street. According to Lt. Patrick Krajewski of the Bristol Police, officers from the patrol division administered life-saving measures until EMS arrived on the scene to take over care. Both pedestrians were transported to area hospitals, where one pedestrian died, Krajewski said.  The victims are not being identified at this time, …

Person Struck By Tractor-Trailer In Fairfield County A pedestrian was hit by a tractor-trailer and seriously injured on I-84 in Fairfield County. Connecticut State Police said the incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 near Exit 11 in Newtown. Responding troopers said the person was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The roadway was closed for several hours, backing up traffic for at least eight miles, before reopening later on Monday morning. The extent of injuries was not immediately provided.
