Mom, Infant Son Gunned Down In CT Drive-By, Shooter Arrested In Puerto Rico: Police A 23-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a young mother and her infant son in Connecticut was arrested in Puerto Rico, authorities announced. Lance Morales, the suspect in the drive-by shooting that killed 20-year-old Jessiah Mercado and her 4-month-old son, Messiah Diaz, was taken into custody Saturday, Nov. 23, by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Marshal Service said.  He was found at a home in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and is being held on a $3 million bond. Toddler Who Wandered Out Of CT Laundromat Killed By Hit-Run Driver, Police Say An alleged hit-and-run driver killed a 1-and-a-half-year-old girl after wandering outside of a Connecticut laundromat. The incident occurred in Hartford around 11 p.m., Monday, June 3, in the area of 36 New Britain Ave. According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police, officers responded to the area after the department received numerous 911 calls reporting a toddler struck by a vehicle. CT College Student Killed, Two Others Injured In Hit-Run Crash, Police Say A college student was killed and two others injured during a hit-and-run crash in Connecticut. The crash took place in Hartford around 11:35 p.m., Thursday, March 31 near the intersection of New Britain Avenue at Henry Street.  All three victims were students at Trinity College located in Hartford, police confirmed.  When police arrived on the scene, they located three female victims, with one unresponsive, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.
