Fatal Crash: 44-Year-Old ID'd As Victim After Being Ejected From Car On CT Roadway
One person was killed after being ejected from his vehicle in an early-morning Connecticut crash. It happened just before 3 a.m. Saturday, July 20, in Hartford County on northbound I-91 in Rocky Hill. According to Connecticut State Police, a 2008 Nissan Versa was traveling near Exit 24 when it veered into the right shoulder and hit a guardrail. The driver, Middlesex County resident Marcos Benitez Rengifo, age 44, of the town of Portland, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Moose Spotted Near CT Highway: Drivers Should Watch Out, Officials Say
State environmental officials are warning drivers to be cautious after a moose was spotted near a busy Connecticut highway exit. The warning came as the result of a sighting on Tuesday, Oct. 17, when a moose was seen in Hartford County near Exit 40 on Interstate 91 southbound in Windsor Locks, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced. According to DEEP officials, the large animals can "pose hazard potential" to drivers, especially during the early morning and evening hours when they are most active. Iconic CT Seafood Eatery Reveals Closing Date After Nearly 30 Years In Business
An iconic seafood restaurant in Connecticut has officially announced its closing date after being in business for almost 30 years. Chowder Pot of Hartford will be closing for good on Saturday, March 25, the restaurant said in a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 13. This comes after the owners originally revealed that Chowder Pot would be closing on Tuesday, Jan. 3. "It has been bittersweet since announcing our closing," the Chowder Pot wrote on Facebook.
