Threats Forces Groton School To Postpone Football Game, Limit Number Of Fans
A Connecticut high school in New London County postponed its football game after administrators learned of a threat of violence being made online, authorities said. Fitch High School moved its game against Norwich Free Academy from Thursday, Oct. 17, to Friday, Oct. 18, after students at Fitch told the school's resource officer about the threat posted to social media, Groton Police said. 6 Teens Arrested After Fights Break Out At CT High School Football Game
Six teens were arrested after fights broke out at a varsity football game in Connecticut. It happened around 8:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at Municipal Stadium Complex in Waterbury. Waterbury Police Department officers assigned to a security detail for the contest between Derby and Wilby high schools observed several teenage spectators involved in a physical altercation. New York State Police have identified the person killed during a single-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. A season-opening high school football game between two Fairfield County high schools was postponed due to a social media threat. The contest between Bridgeport Central High School and Kolbe Cathedral High School, also located in Bridgeport, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8, was canceled after school officials were made aware of a threatening image on social media.
