Man Falls 15 Feet From Hot Air Balloon At CT Fairgrounds, Police Say A 69-year-old Connecticut man who was volunteering at a hot air balloon event fell 10 to 15 feet while hanging on to the outside of the balloon. The incident took place in New Haven County around 9:40 p.m., Sunday, July 23, in Guilford. According to Guilford Police Chief Christopher Massey, officers responded to the Guilford Fairgrounds for a report of a person who had fallen from a hot air balloon. Susan Bysiewicz, according to WTNH News 8. New Haven County resident John Bysiewicz, of Brandford, was hit around 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12 on the 400 block of Leetes Island Road in Guilford, said Deputy Chief Chris Massey of the Guilford Police.
