A late-night stabbing left a 44-year-old Connecticut man hospitalized with significant injuries in what authorities believe was a targeted attack. Police were called to a house in the 100 block of Powhattan Street in Putnam around 3 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6. A 15-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after a crash involving a car in Connecticut earlier this week, police said. The teen was riding a bicycle along Church Street near Morse Street in Putnam around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, when it veered off the sidewalk and crashed into a 2020 Toyota Camry following a "mechanical malfunction," police said. Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed while walking along Route 44 this weekend as 68-year-old Leo Blain of Putnam, Connecticut. Blain was struck by a Ford Fusion around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, according to Connecticut State Police. Paramedics transported him to Day Kimball Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
