Man Killed, Woman Injured In Single-Vehicle New Britain Crash, Police Say A man was killed, and a woman was injured following a one-car crash in Connecticut.  The crash occurred in Hartford County around 9:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, in the area of Slater Road near Mitchell Street in New Britain. According to New Britain Police spokeswoman Rachel Zaniewski, when officers arrived, they found the unidentified man unresponsive, and he was later pronounced dead by New Britain EMS on the scene. The passenger was alert and conscious but suffered several injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to an area hospital for further treatment, Zaniewski said…

1 Rescued From CT River After Kayak Capsizes One person was rescued from a Connecticut river after their kayak capsized as dusk approached. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 7:50 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, in the Quinnipiac River in North Haven. CT State Troopers Smash Allegedly Drunk Driver’s Window Connecticut State Police had to smash a window and use a taser on a 24-year-old man before charging him with alleged drunk driving.  The incident occurred in Middlesex County around 2:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, on 1-91 northbound in Middletown between the rest area and Exit 20.  According to State Police, troopers found a black GMC Sierra pickup with a Massachusetts license plate parked in the right climbing lane and several damaged DOT traffic cones.  The truck's engine was running, and the driver was slumped over the steering wheel, state police said. 2 Pedestrians Hit, 1 Killed in CT, Driver Remains At Scene Two pedestrians were hit, and one was killed by a vehicle at a busy Connecticut intersection.  The crash occurred in Hartford County in Bristol around 4:15 a.m., Monday, June 24, in the area of Pine Street (Route 72) and Emmett Street. According to Lt. Patrick Krajewski of the Bristol Police, officers from the patrol division administered life-saving measures until EMS arrived on the scene to take over care.
