Hassau Powell Lived In Empty Hospital Building Before Dying
A man discovered dead in an unused office at a Yale New Haven Health clinic had been living there undetected, according to police, raising questions about how long he went unnoticed in the medical facility. Hassau Powell, 38, was found last week on the sixth floor of the clinic on Howard Avenue in New Haven, according to a report from NBC Connecticut. One of the victims in the mass shooting at the Tulsa, Oklahoma hospital has ties to the Northeast. Dr. Preston J. Phillips was a Harvard Medical School graduate who worked at the Yale New Haven Hospital for years during his residency before ultimately landing as an orthopedic surgeon at the hospital where he was murdered. One of Connecticut’s largest hospital systems is changing its visiting policy due to the steep rise of newly reported COVID-19 infections. Yale New Haven Health announced on Wednesday, Dec. 22 that visitors to admitted patients in all its hospitals will have to show proof of being fully vaccinated or a negative PCR test, or else be turned away at the door.
