Child Killed After Tree Crashes Onto Elementary School Playground
A child who was injured along with others when a tree fell on a Massachusetts elementary school playground has died, authorities said. The child, another juvenile, and an adult were hurt Monday, May 4, when a tree suddenly toppled outside Winthrop Elementary School in Melrose, firefighters said. Classes had just let out for the day when the incident happened. All three were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The others were treated and released, authorities said Tuesday.
