1 Person Burned During Westport House Fire
One person received burns to their hands while attempting to put out a house fire in Fairfield County. The blaze occurred in Westport around 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 12, on Riverside Avenue. First arriving firefighters reported smoke and fire visible from the front right side of the home, said Assistant Chief Philip Hessberger, of the Westport Fire Department. 50 Animals Saved In Fast-Moving Fairfield County Fire As Residents Jump From Second-Floor
Some 50 dogs and cats were saved during a fast-moving fire in Fairfield County that caused residents to jump from second-floor windows. The fire began in Westport around 11:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 20 in a mixed-occupancy building that housed apartments and an animal boarding facility. Two Hospitalized After Three-Vehicle Crash In Fairfield County
Two people were hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash in Fairfield County in which one of the drivers had to be extricated. The crash took place in Westport around 7 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3 on Post Road West in the area of Marion Road. Shop Heavily Damaged During Fire In Fairfield County
A Fairfield County bridal shop was heavily damaged during a fire over the weekend. The fire started around 6 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Bridal and Evening Wear Shop located at 246 Post Road East in Westport. According to Assistant Fire Chief Philip Hessberger, the fire was discovered after the Westport Fire Department received a commercial automatic fire alarm.
