Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Busy CT Roadway, Police Say
A man was killed after being hit by a Toyota Avalon along a busy Connecticut roadway.
The incident took place around 12:15 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, in New Haven County in the area of Thomaston Avenue, in Waterbury.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a 60-year-old man who had been struck by the vehicle, said Lt. Robert Davis, of the Waterbury Police.
The man was transported to Waterbury Hospital via ambulance, where he died from injuries sustained from the collision, Davis said.

A Connecticut man was killed after losing control of his vehicle and being ejected after hitting railroad tracks along Route 8, said Connecticut State Police.
New Haven County resident Jonathan Vazquez, age 24, of Derby, was killed around 1 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 4, while traveling northbound on Route 8 near Beacon Falls, said state police.
According to state police, For an unknown reason, Vazquez lost control of his Honda Accord and veered off the roadway to the right.

Fatal, Double-Shooting Inside Busy Convenience Store, Connecticut
Two people were shot by an unidentified perpetrator, one fatally, inside of a Connecticut convenience store.
A 45-year-old man was found on the floor of the Willow Street, Waterbury, Green Store with a gunshot wound to the abdomen just before 11 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. At the time, the victim was unconscious but still breathing. He was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, at Waterbury Hospital.
The name of the deceased victim was not released by authorities.
