Woman From Fairfield County Admits Committing Fraud While Awaiting Sentencing In Other Case
A 32-year-old former Farifield County resident pleaded guilty to a health care fraud offense that she committed while waiting to be sentenced for a separate health care fraud charge.
Nicole Steiner, a former Stratford resident, pleaded guilty to the charge on Friday, July 29, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Fairfield County Man Wins $50,000 In CT State Lottery Prize
Two Connecticut residents claimed lottery prizes valued at about $50,000.
Fairfield County resident Louis Pulitano, of Stratford, won a $50,000 prize from a Money Match Multiplier ticket purchased at Krauszer's Food Store, located at 911 Campbell Ave. in West Haven, Connecticut Lottery announced.
CT Lottery then announced that Zachary Renaldi, a resident of Oakdale in New London County, claimed a $50,020 prize from a KENO ticket purchased at Renaldi's One Stop Package, located at 1590 Route 85 in Oakdale.

A winning lottery ticket valued at $100,000 was sold at a Stop & Shop in Connecticut.
An unnamed West Hartford resident purchased the CASH5 Connecticut Lottery ticket at the grocery store, located at 1235 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford, CT Lottery reported on Monday, July 18.

ID Released For Woman Found Dead At Parking Lot In Fairfield County
Police have released the identity of a woman found dead in the backseat of a car in a Fairfield County parking lot.
The woman, identified as Joanna Smith, age 34, of Stratford, was found lying in the backseat of a running car in Westport in the parking lot of 40 Jesup Road at about 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, according to Lt. Dave Wolf, of Westport Police Department.
"The matter remains under investigation, but no foul play is suspected," Wolf said.
Responding officers determined Smith was not responsive and attempted lifesaving efforts, but she was pronounced dead, he added.
