Police In CT Searching For Missing 1-Year-Old, Mother
Police in Connecticut are asking for the public's help locating a 1-year-old girl who was allegedly taken by her mother. The infant, Royalty Bass, was last seen in New Haven County in Ansonia on Tuesday, April 26 with her mother Shameka Henri. Henri failed to return the infant to her father after a custody visit, said Lt. Patrick Lynch, of the Ansonia Police Department. A Fairfield County man is heading to federal prison for his role in an auto theft ring that targeted wealthy neighborhoods. Stratford resident Edwin Cordero, age 21, was sentenced Monday, April 18 to 30 months behind bars by US District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport. Cordero was arrested Thursday, Dec. 2 after Stratford Police said he was a passenger in a stolen Porsche that fled when police attempted to stop it. ID Released For 20-Year-Old Fairfield County Man Killed In Shooting
Police have released the identity of a Fairfield County man killed in what police are calling an alleged drug deal gone wrong. Johnny Class, age 20, of Stratford, was killed in New Haven County in Ansonia on Tuesday, April 5, on Hubbell Avenue near Sixth Street. The shooting took place “during an attempted drug purchase” Ansonia police said at the time of the crime. An 18-year-old Fairfield County woman has been charged in connection with the violent carjacking of a taxi driver. Ashley Reyes, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Thursday, March 31, following a months-long investigation into a violent carjacking that sent a 42 year-old Danbury taxi driver to the hospital last September. Fairfield County Man Sentenced For Role In Heroin-Trafficking Operation
A Fairfield County man will spend years behind bars after being sentenced for allegedly trafficking heroin in Connecticut, federal officials announced. Stratford resident Nadyar Malaka, age 35, was sentenced in Hartford federal court to 48 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin in July 2021.
