Firefighters in Hartford County rescued a dog from a burning home on Tuesday, Jan. 14, saving the pooch before flames consumed the property. Crews were called to a home at 69 Fleming Road in Manchester just before 2:30 p.m. They arrived to find smoke billowing from the roofline. The family escaped mostly unharmed. Two adults and a child were hospitalized following a fire in Fairfield County. The fire took place in Bridgeport around 3:20 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5 at 129 Wood Ave. According to Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport, firefighters responded to the apartment after the department received several 911 calls. Two Connecticut women were rescued from their burning home as flames surrounded them. The fire took place around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, in New Haven County at a home on Spring Street in Ansonia. According to Lieutenant Patrick Lynch, of the Ansonia Police Department, the department received a call from a resident on Spring Street reporting her house was on fire and she was trapped. The blaze began around 8:20 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, at the complex located at 95 Kaye Vue Plaza, in Hamden. Many residents and emergency responders were injured during a fire in a six-story apartment building Wednesday, Sept. 30.
