The incident took place in Fairfield at Fairfield University around 7:15 a.m., Tuesday, May 31. Officials Report Injuries After Construction Lift Overturns In CT Officials said injuries have been reported after a construction lift overturned in a Connecticut city. The accident happened on Governor Winthrop Boulevard in New London behind the Garde Arts Center, the city announced at about 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25. Fire officials, police, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident, the city said. Governor Winthrop Boulevard was partially shut down, with traffic being rerouted at the time of the announcement.  The city said the public should avoid the area if possible.

The incident took place in Litchfield County at PM Engineered Solutions Inc. when an employee of the metal fabrication company was electrocuted in July while repairing a portable water heater in Watertown.  An inspection by OSHA found that the company lacked safeguards to protect employees against electrocution, as well as mechanical, chemical, fall, and other electrical hazards, said the US Department of Labor.
