Fatal Crash: 27-Year-Old CT Woman ID'd As Victim A 27-year-old woman has been identified as the victim of a crash involving a pedestrian on a busy Connecticut roadway. The crash occurred in Hartford County around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29 on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington. The victim, Katelyn Bruke, of Wethersfield, was struck by a vehicle near the Wren Kitchen, according to the Newington Police. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.  The vehicle's driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with police. The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad is investigating the crash.…

Suspect Nabbed After Man, Pregnant Woman Shot At CT Store Two employees of a Connecticut auto parts store were shot, including a pregnant woman, during a robbery. The incident took place in Hartford County around 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 in Newington at the O’Reilly Auto Parts located at 3443 Berlin Turnpike. According to Sgt. Ryan Deane, of the Newington Police, officers responded to the store for a reported shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including the pregnant woman who was shot in shot in the calf and hip as she tried to flee, police said. Bullet Goes Into 9-Year-Old's Bedroom In Residential CT Neighborhood Police are investigating a shooting incident in which a bullet went through a house in Connecticut and into the bed frame of a 9-year-old. The Hartford County shooting took place in Newington around 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 on John Street. The bullet was shot from the street into the home and landed in the bed frame in the child's bedroom, said the Newington Police. There were no injuries reported from the shooting, police said.  Police did not say if the shooting was targeted or random. Parking Lots Targetted: 100 Vehicles Broken Into In One Night Over 100 vehicles, parked in business parking lots and condominium complexes, were broken into over the course of one night.  The cars, all parked along Kitts Lane between the Berlin Turnpike and Griswoldville Avenue in Newington, had their windows broken and items stolen from within on the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 8.
