Rounds Of Storms Knock Out Power In Fairfield County: Communities Most Affected
Rounds of storms, some of which were severe, have caused numerous power outages in Connecticut.
As of around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, Eversource reported around 1,800 customers affected, and United Illuminating another 116.
Here are the communities with the most outages:
Lebanon (New London County, 459
Stamford (Fairfield County), 157
Montville (New London County), 129
Milford (New Haven County), 114
Franklin (New London County), 68

Man Trespasses At CT Smoke Shop, Damages Window
A Connecticut man was charged with alleged trespassing after throwing an item at a window inside a smoke shop damaging it and then returning again the next day.
The incident took place in New Haven County at the Old Glory Smoke Shop at 1250 Boston Post Road on Friday, Aug. 4, and Saturday, Aug. 5 in Milford.
According to Milford Police, on Friday, Aug. 4, Michael Spangler, age 45, homeless, entered the store and threw an item at the window, damaging it.
He was charged with trespassing and released.

A Massachusetts woman was found with two baggies of cocaine after numerous 911 calls reported that she was driving dangerously on I-95 in Connecticut, officials say.
Nina Marie Fish, a 37-year-old from the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester, was arrested on Monday, July 31 around 6:35 p.m. in New Haven County after she was seen nearly crashing into multiple other vehicles on I-95 Northbound in Milford, Connecticut, according to the Connecticut State Police.

Popular Artist, Business Owner From Milford Dies Suddenly At Age 63
A much beloved Connecticut artist known throughout her community died suddenly at the age of 63.
New Haven County resident Sharon Rutledge, of Milford, died on Friday, June 2, after collapsing at her home on Wednesday, May 31.
At the time of her death, Sharon was encircled by her family and friends, said her daughter Sara Agee Kaminski.
Besides owning a business -- Blue Point Designs -- featuring her artwork and more, Sharon was known throughout the community for her Facebook page "You know you live in Milford CT if....,” with almost 30,000 members.
