Suicidal CT Man Who Wanted Police To 'Kill Him,' Injures Officers During Arrest, Cops Say
A Connecticut man who was allegedly suicidal and wanted to be killed by police was taken into custody after fighting and injuring several officers.
The incident occurred in New Haven County in Hamden on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Hamden Plaza.
According to Lt. Raymond Quinn of the Hamden Police, the department received word that the East Haven Police were trying to locate and arrest Derrick Gilliam, age 29, of New Haven.
East Haven police said that Gilliam, who was wanted on domestic violence charges, was suicidal and "wanted to be killed by police," Quinn said.

Wanted Alleged CT Bank Robber Nabbed
A woman who was on the run after robbing a Connecticut bank has been captured by police.
The robbery occurred in New Haven County around 12:45 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Hamden at the Connex Credit Union, at 2100 Dixwell Ave.
Hamden police responded to the bank and learned the suspect, identified as Natalie Medor, age 36 of Hamden, had entered the credit union and passed a note to the bank teller demanding money, said Det. Sean Dolan, of the Hamden Police.
No weapons were displayed and no one was injured.

Drunk CT Woman Punches Restaurant Employee, Throws Glasses, Police Say
A Connecticut woman has been arrested after becoming unruly at a TGI Friday's allegedly throwing glasses and punching a restaurant employee while drunk.
Wisdom South, age 25, of New Haven, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 11, after Hamden Police in New Haven County responded to the restaurant located on Dixwell Avenue for a report of an intoxicated patron who was out of control.
According to Det. Sean Dolan, of the Hamden Police, when police arrived South was allegedly intoxicated, yelling profanities, and throwing glasses on the floor and in the direction of customers.

CT Man Sentenced For Illegally Possessing Handguns
A Connecticut man has been sentenced to four-and-half years in prison for illegally possessing two firearms.
Carlos Barnes, also known as "Buddha," age 29, of New Haven, was sentenced to prison time in addition to three years of supervised release on Thursday, Jan. 21, said John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Discovery Of Dozens Of Animals Leads To Charges For CT Woman
A Connecticut woman was arrested for alleged animal cruelty after police say they found more than 26 animals in her home, including some clinging to life.
New Haven County resident Donna Scirocco, 59, of Hamden, turned herself in to police on a warrant for the event that took place in October, said Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith.

Victim In Wednesday's Fatal Double-Shooting ID'd
The victim in a fatal double-shooting on Wednesday, Dec. 16, has been identified.
On Dec. 16, around noon, police responded to an incident at Arch Street and Pine Rock Avenue in Hamden, police said.
Upon arrival, Hamden Police noticed one of the victims was dead and the other in serious condition.
The victim who had been fatally shot was Darlene Brown, 43, of Hamden.
The male victim, Derrick Miller, 57, of Hamden, was shot in his torso and is in serious condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital, police said.
Brown and Miller were recently married, police said.

Driver Crashes Into Cars, Runs Off With Baby - Police Searching For Female Suspect
Police are searching for a female driver who allegedly struck seven vehicles before fleeing the scene on-foot toting an 8-month old infant in a baby carrier.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 16, when Hamden Police responded to the intersection of Dixwell Avenue and Putnam Avenue on the report of a motor vehicle accident, said Capt. Ronald Smith.
