A popular Fairfield County nightclub has been closed after officials allegedly found several fire and alcohol violations.
The VIP Lounge, in Bridgeport, located on Pembroke Street, was raided by police and state liquor officials around 2:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 26.
"This immediate area has been plagued with police calls for service related to noise complaints, felony assaults, narcotics violations, and homicide," said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.

Heroin Distributor From Fairfield County Sentenced To Federal Prison
A 34-year-old Fairfield County man was sentenced to years in federal prison for distributing heroin.
Ray Fontanez, of Bridgeport, was sentenced on Monday, March 14, to 60 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
In 2017, FBI task force investigators and the Bridgeport Police Department began investigating individuals who were distributing narcotics in the Bridgeport area, Boyle reported.
Following the investigation, 19 defendants were charged, the US Attorney's Office said.

Two Connecticut residents were arrested and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and fentanyl.
Willie Franco, age 33, and 31-year-old Daniella Fox, both of New Haven, were both arrested on Monday, March 7, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
On Wednesday, March 2, investigators intercepted a USPS parcel containing about a kilogram of cocaine and a kilogram of fentanyl that was being sent to an address in East Haven associated with the two defendants, Boyle reported.

Four men are facing federal charges following a spree of violent robberies at AT&T stores in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, authorities announced.
Hartford residents Alex Josephs, age 21, Ronaldo Smith, age 23, Shaquille Raymond, age 23, and Deshawn Baugh, age 19, have been charged following the spree, which included pistol-whipping some employees while threatening others at gunpoint.
