Westport Man Nabbed For DUI After Swerving, Running Red Lights, Police Say
A Fairfield County man is behind bars for alleged DUI after he was spotted by police swerving between lanes and running red lights.
David Rappaport, age 58, of Westport, was charged on Friday, July 26, around 12:15 a.m. on Post Road East in Westport.
According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, an officer in the area was approached by two people who witnessed the erratic driving in Fairfield and alerted the officer.

Fairfield County resident 32-year-old Michael Pierre, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday, July 29, for the Sunday, July 14 incident in North Haven.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with three Fairfield County burglaries, including one in which he allegedly stole more than $25,000 in jewelry.
The burglaries occurred on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, in Darien and Greenwich.

Westport Man Charged With Assault For Allegedly Knocking Over Country Club Employee, Laughing
A Fairfield County man was charged with alleged assault after he reportedly knocked over a country club employee and then laughed.
Walter Francis, age 58, of Westport, was arrested on Tuesday, July 23, for the Monday, June 3 incident at the Birchwood County Club in Westport.
According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, an investigation into the assault began after the employee contacted police and said while working, they were pushed to the ground while crouched down stacking menus.
The victim told police they were not injured but felt threatened and scared by Francis, Woods said.
